Assemblymember Buffy Wicks continued her work on housing policy this cycle, stepping up to author condo defect reform. Co-sponsored by CBIA, and with the advisement of various groups that included San Diego BIA membership, the bill also drew ire of the consumer attorneys and ultimately took heavy amendments. Late in the legislative cycle, CBIA intervened to have the bill shelved to address concerns with specific provisions of the bill in its final form, dodging what the CBIA has deemed a problematic version of the bill from becoming law.
