An underappreciated bill from Assemblymember Wilson is heading to Governor Newsom for his signature, following strong bipartisan support as it made its way through the legislature. The bill most importantly prohibits the requirement or request of more than two plan checks unless it is found that it is necessary to address an impact on public health or safety. This practical idea of capping the revolving door of reviews is also prominently featured in our policy proposal that we are working with the City of San Diego to adopt. Upon signature, we are excited to work with the City on implementation that provides surety and relief.
